Requirements

  • Content submitted can be in either article or video format and must revolve around your love & appreciation towards Malaysia or things that instill pride in you as a Malaysian. (e.g. stories of different races coming together to achieve something, a Malaysian hero, local food & eateries that you enjoy etc).
     

  • Content submitted can either be in English, Malay or Mandarin.
     

  • To qualify as an entry for this campaign, you must include the #MalaysiaKita hashtag in your content title, and select #MalaysiaKita in the ‘NCC campaign’ field. Failure to do so will result in the submission not being considered as a campaign entry.
     

  • Articles submission must be at least 300 words in length and contain at least one (1) image, with proper credit.
     

  • Video submission must be at least 60 seconds in duration and accompanied by a description of a minimum of 100 words.
     

  • Ensure your content is original and free from plagiarism. Failure to adhere to this guideline will result in the rejection of your submission.
     

  • Content submitted is to be exclusive to Newswav and not shared with other media outlets/publishers.
     

  • Video content shall not be taken from any other platform/websites and the owner of the submitted content should be solely the creator.
     

  • Participants must share the published content in the form of Newswav link on Facebook, Instagram, or X within the campaign period in order to be eligible. Comments do not count as sharing, and your social media account must be set to public.

The creator who garnered the highest total views across all of their published content (in all 3 languages) for this campaign will be rewarded with a 3D2N stay at The Prestige Hotel, Penang.

Up to 10 content with the highest view count will be awarded a RM200 gift card to dine at De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan Kuala Lumpur @ The LINC KL.

Newswav will select up to 30 outstanding content, and each winner will receive a RM100 Klook gift card.

Best Newcomer Award x5

Up to 5 new creators who joined during the campaign period and garnered the highest number of engagements across all of their published content for this campaign will each be awarded a RM150 cash prize.

*Engagement refers to genuine reactions, shares, and comments on Newswav.

To qualify for any of the prize selections, each of your entry must meet the following criteria:
  • English content: Achieve a minimum of 2,000 views and 80 engagements
  • Mandarin content: Achieve a minimum of 1,000 views and 50 engagements​
  • Bahasa Melayu content: Achieve a minimum of 500 views and 30 engagements
NOTE:
Each participant can only win:
  • One (1) Grand Prize or One (1) Most Viewed Content Award, but not both; and
  • One (1) Newswav Top Picks; and
  • One (1) Best Newcomer Award

Terms & Conditions

CONTEST PERIOD

1. The #MalaysiaKita2024 or #MalaysiaKita NCC Campaign (the “Contest”) is organised by Newswav Sdn. Bhd (“the Organiser”).
2. The Contest will commence from
August 1, 2024 (Thursday), 12pm to October 03, 2024 (Thursday), 12pm (above dates inclusive) (the “Contest Period”).
3. However, the period for you to submit your entry will start from
August 1, 2024 (Thursday), 12pm to September 26, 2024 (Thursday), 12pm (above dates inclusive) (the “Submission Period”).

CONTEST ELIGIBILITY

4. The Contest is open to all Malaysians who fulfil the following criteria (the “Participants"):
   i) are Newswav users
   ii) is a citizen of Malaysia or residing in Malaysia

CONTENT SUBMISSION & REQUIREMENTS

5. Content submitted can be in article or video format (the “Content” or “Entry”) and must revolve around your love & appreciation towards Malaysia or things that instill pride in you as a Malaysian.
6. The Organiser reserves the right to reject any submissions that are non-relevant or forcefully related to the theme. 
7. Content submitted can either be in English, Bahasa Melayu or Mandarin.
8. To qualify your Content submission as an entry for this campaign, you must include the #MalaysiaKita hashtag in your submission title, and select #MalaysiaKita2024 in the ‘NCC campaign’ field. Failure to include both will result in the submission not being considered as a campaign entry.

20. Winners shall be solely determined by the Organiser, whose decision shall be deemed final. No correspondence or appeal(s) will be entertained.
21. The Organiser reserves the right to remove any duplicated, non-genuine, malicious or spam views, reactions, shares, and comments when tabulating the winner list.

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT & PRIZES REDEMPTION

22. Winner announcements will be made via email to the winner(s) on November 8 (Friday), 12pm.
23. Winners must provide their NRIC copy and a screenshot of their winning content shared on social media during the contest period for verification and to claim their prize. Failure to do so may result in prize revocation.
24. Winners who fail to reply to the email within seven (7) days will have their prize forfeited.
25. Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or refundable in any way.

GENERAL

26. All costs and expenses in connection with the production of the Content and the participation of this Contest shall be fully borne by the Participants.
27. Content submitted must not be vague, illegal, or unlawful, lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic, disparaging, defamatory, libellous, offensive, must not infringe any third party’s legal rights, and must not be capable of giving rise to legal action whether against you or the Organiser or a third party (in each case under any applicable law). User Content must be researched beforehand and be of truth.
28. The Organiser reserves the right to reject, edit or remove any of the Participants’ content at the discretion of the Organiser, at any time.
29. By submitting the Content, The Organiser has the rights to use the Entries or material submitted for library, promotional, or commercial use globally.

DECLARATION & AUTHORISATION

30. The Organiser reserves the right at its absolute discretion to postpone, reschedule and/or extend the Contest Period and/or terminate the Contest at any given time without prior notice.
31. The Organiser reserves the right to amend the mechanics, prizes, and terms & conditions of the Contest, as well as other aspects of the Contest at its absolute discretion without prior notice.
32. By participating in this Contest, the Participants are deemed to have read and understood and have agreed to comply with all terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) set forth in this section (as varied or changed).
